VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
MCDP very much needs volunteers for various things in
the next couple of weeks. We could use data entry folks
NOW--as in March 12-17, for entering data on attendees at
the 85 precinct conventions held on election night. I've
been doing this at home--first priority is to enter the
delegates and alternates, then all the attendees (or at
least the ones we know or believe are Democrats).
We need poll workers for the Primary Runoff election on
Tues, 8 April--volunteer early and you can get close to your
precinct. Once they do it, many people realize there really
is a sense of satisfaction in it and volunteer again. There
is a nominal hourly pay, and if two of you could split a
shift it makes it much more manageable.
We also need poll workers for the election on Sat 10
May. You might have seen the article in the Conroe section
of today's Chronicle about Montgomery Community College
having a bond issue on that ballot.
We have to staff 85 polling places with one judge and one
clerk for both elections. That's 170 volunteers, folks. If
not you, who??
Finally, we need help with the 29 March senatorial
district convention--help with registration, fund raising,
general assistance. I KNOW there are people on this mailing
list who have planned conferences before. The committee is
working now to get it set up so that it will run smoothly.
Please try to raise your hand for one or two of these
requirements that are facing us. Thanks so much
